Inspired froir Mirza Ismailm the idea of Sir Mirza Ismail, Brindavan garden is one of the best terrace gardens in the world. The symmetric garden and landscaping is noteworthy. Spread over an area of more than 60 acres the garden is laid out in 3 terraces. The lighting has also been down accordingly to beautify the place more. It is about 12 km from Mysore city and is built besides KSR dam. The creation of the garden took over 5 years and was taken up by the Department of horticulture. The idea behind the garden was to beautify the area around the dam and after completion of the project, their idea became a success. This was our third stop for the day.
Mysore Palace
There are hundreds of varieties of trees and plants and is a botanists paradise. Beauty of flowers can allure anyone. It is world famous for its symmetric designs. The garden is enriched with flower beds, roses, water channels, fountains, green lawns and trees. The boating pond offers pedal boat rides too. Huge, shady trees are perfect for relaxing and resting. The musical and dancing fountain is the main attraction of the visitors. The water jets and lights are synchronized with music and is a feast for the eyes. The only thing which I have felt is that they haven't made any improvements in the music or lights. I was visiting the gardens after 2 years and there were no significant changes.

Maintaining the plants and trees in such good condition throughout the year requires painstaking efforts. The workers have to be applauded for their hard work. Maintenance is done pretty well so that visitors can enjoy the beauty of the garden throughout the year. We spend about an hour here as we were visiting in the afternoon and was quite hot.

When to Visit
Open on all days from 6:30 am to 9 pm.
Entrance tickets for adults is Rs 15 and children ( 5 to 10 years) is Rs 5.
The light show is from 7 pm to 8 pm on all days.
What to do
Light show, boat riding, leisure walks.
